ISO 17712 container seals
ISO/PAS 17712:2003's narrow scope reflected the time-urgency of industry stakeholders. It was clear that the seal suppliers' security-related business practises were at least as important as the physical strength of a seal. Seal manufacturers and distributors with immature or careless security-related management practises could effectively compromise the security of the best physical seal before it was shipped out of the door.
The first one is the seal intention and its resistance level, for example the exportation seals are divided among 3 classes: Indicative type, marked with an “I”, security seals marked with “S”, and high security marked with “H”. Bolt seal is composed of two parts; the plastic pin needs to be inserted in the body and only needs a little finger pressure to close. Easy to fit! No tools required. It is best to test and verify that the bolt lock seal is closed properly.
These high security seals can be customized or can be inscribed: SEALED DO NOT REMOVE. We suggest customizing along with the numbering, in order to prevent double generic numbering. The ISO 17712 standard was created in order to prevent terrorist attacks like those of September 11th, 2001 in the United States. It was made by an alliance between the customs and the private sector. Therefore the importations of goods to the United States must comply with the container security required by this standard.
